Mr. Cecil Larry Floyd Jr.

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Mr. Cecil Larry Floyd, Jr., 59 Mr. Floyd entered into rest on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A celebration of his life will be held in private. The family will receive friends at the family home, 60 Timber Creek Road, McGee Town, SC. Mr. Floyd was born on January 18, 1966, in Bishopville, SC. He was the son of the late Cecil Larry Floyd and the late Voncile Denton Floyd. He was a one-of-a-kind soul whose love, generosity, and humor made every room brighter. He left this world far too soon, but not before leaving an unforgettable mark on the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him. Larry Jr. was the kind of person who showed up—not just in presence, but in spirit. Whether arriving with arms full of food, a cooler packed to the brim with drinks, or a surprise gift from a thrift store find, he made sure everyone around was cared for. He had a heart that gave endlessly—often paying for others without hesitation and loving with a depth that few could match. A true animal lover, Larry Jr.’s “fur babies” were part of the family. He would do anything for them and found such joy in their companionship. He was also known for his quick wit and ability to find humor in any situation—turning even life’s little mishaps into moments of laughter. In younger years, Larry Jr. could clog with the best of them, and even when the music stopped, that same rhythm of joy carried through every part of his life. He was the kind of person who would take the blame for someone else’s embarrassing moment just to spare them discomfort—a perfect reflection of his selfless and tender nature. He loved deeply, thought fully, and gave freely. The world feels quieter without him in it, but the love he shared will echo forever in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving partner, Michael Miller; brother, Chad Floyd (Angie); sisters, Denise Dunlap (Rick) and Babs Chewning (Ricky); nieces and nephews, Brock Ludy (Jill), Brittany Blythe (Josh), Brooke Bradshaw (Josh), and Gavin Floyd. They will forever cherish the laughter and love he brought into their lives.
