Mr. Calvin DeWitt Hall

April 24, 1946 - June 20, 2022

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Calvin DeWitt Hall, 76. Mr. Hall went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 20, 2022, after an extended illness. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A graveside funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11 o'clock on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Lucknow Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Stevens will officiate, and the family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lucknow Baptist Church, 899 Hubb Kelley Road, Cassatt, SC 29032. He was born in Lee County, the son of Elise Hall. He worked for numerous years at Hermitage Cotton Mill in Camden, SC, until it closed and then with the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Lee County until he retired. DeWitt was a quiet man who enjoyed gardening, working with his tractor, and going fishing. He leaves behind a sister, Sara Jo Tisdale; two nieces, Elizabeth (Robbie) Brown and Connie (Derrick) Brown; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, Erica Hughes, Eric Boone, Deuce Brown, Ray Brown, Dillon Brown, Walker Brown, Angel Tisdale, Dayton Brown, Kayleigh Hughes, Noah Brown and Eriole Boone; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hall; and best friend, Carlton Stevens. He was precedented in death by his mother, Elise Hall; brother, Andrew Hall; nephew, Ray Tisdale; brother-in-law, Clarence Tisdale.
