Funeral services for Harold Boswell Hancock, 74, who died peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at St. John United Methodist Church. The Rev. Marcus Johnston and the Rev. Charles Miller will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the church. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 3919 Spring Hill Road, Rembert, SC, 29128. Born on November 13, 1942, in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Herbert and Julia Hancock. Nothing was more important to Harold than witnessing for his savior Jesus Christ. Harold never met a stranger. If you ever knew Harold Hancock, you know that he loved his family and the Lord. He was a lifelong member of St. John UMC, a certified Lay Speaker of the United Methodist Church, and a member of Gideons International. Harold was a past Grand Master of Spring Hill Masonic Lodge 188. He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. He was also self-employed as a land surveyor. Harold had a passion for sports and was an owner of numerous Beagle Field Trial champions. He is survived by his loving wife Lucie Hancock of Bishopville.; daughter, Della (Dean) Johnson of Lugoff, SC; sons David (Angie) Hancock and Dan (Michelle) Hancock, both of Bishopville; brother J.C. (Barbara) Hancock of Bishopville, SC; sister Geraldine (Charles) Miller of Bishopville, SC; grandchildren Christi (Brett) Roberts, Amanda (Dylon) Drennen, Jamie (Steven) Austin, Dustin (Devon) Johnson, Dylan (Taylor) Johnson, Brooks Walker, Alexis (Martin) Zink, Heather (Cody) Plott, Chandler Hancock, Trystan Hancock, Sierra McCaskill, and Jordan Hancock; great-grandchildren Brayden Johnson, Jake Austin, Noah Austin and Summer Drennen. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Connell (Trish) Hancock; and grandson Adam Hancock.
