    Mr. Harrison Lewis Woodie Jr.

    April 27, 1956 - April 6, 2022

It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Natasha Lynn Back announces the death of her beloved father, Harrison Lewis Woodie, Jr., 65. Mr. Woodie entered into rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 1 o'clock on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in St. Andrew Church of God. The Rev. Scott Hodge and The Rev. Jonathan Owens will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Andrew Church of God, 4238 Red Hill Road, Camden, SC 29020. Born in Lee County, SC, he was the son of the late Harrison Lewis Woodie Sr. and the late Bertha Lee McLure Woodie. Harrison L. Woodie, more known as Harry, or Papa, fell in love with every person he came into contact with. He was a godly man who was very involved with his church. His whole world was his Family. He worked hard up until his retirement last year. He was the kind of person that would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He tried his very best to see the good in people. He never met a stranger. He will truly be missed by everyone who ever met him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Natasha Lynn (Jason) Back of Darlington, SC; grandchildren, Laci Lynn Back of Darlington, SC, Jayla Eden Back of Darlington, SC; great-grandson, Brantley Drew Happ of Darlington, SC; nieces, Ginger Woody of Camden, SC; nephews, Dent Woody of Camden, SC; Rev. Jonathan (Raydeane) Owens of Coeur d'Alene, ID. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ora Edsel Woody; sisters, Gearldine Woodie Owens, Sue Woodie Gladden. Serving as pallbearers will be Dent Woody, Allen Chewning, Ricky Chewning, Jeff Jones, Nicholas Wineski, David Galloway, and Clayton Chewning.
