It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Stephen D. Leech announces the death of his beloved wife, Linda Gail Hopkins Leech, 79. Mrs. Leech passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022. A graveside funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3 o'clock on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery, with The Rev. Buddy Amerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm on Sunday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association of South Carolina, Attn: SC Gift Processing, 4600 Park Rd, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209. Born in Bishopville, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Willard Hopkins and the late Lavenia Rae Andrews Hopkins. Linda spent most of her career in banking. She loved her family and loved to joke around with her brothers. She enjoyed traveling and flying with her husband, Steve. She loved people, loved her pets: Solo, Gus, Sheila, Igor Sebastian Straus. She loved her husband and loved being with and visiting with her family. She is survived by her loving husband Steve Leech of Elgin, SC; brothers, Don (Jean) Hopkins of Chapin, SC, Junior (Penny) Hopkins of Bishopville, SC, Roger (Kim) Hopkins of Bishopville, SC; sister-in-law, Kathy Hopkins of Hartsville, SC; several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she has preceded in death by her brother, John Wayne Hopkins. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Hopkins, Chase Galloway, Craig Hopkins, Heath Hopkins, Bob Pinckney, and McCade Hopkins. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-HIll Funeral Home are caring for the family.
