    Mrs. Nancy Arledge Brown

    March 19, 1947 - January 17, 2022

    It is with deep sorrow that the Brown family announces the death of their beloved mother, Mrs. Nancy Arledge Brown, 74. Mrs. Brown passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022. A graveside funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3 o'clock on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Grubbs and The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate and the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. Memorials may be made in her honor to Calvary Baptist Church, 495 Calvary Church Road, Bishopville, SC 29010. Mrs. Brown, the widow Richard Julian Brown, was born in Kershaw County, SC. She was the daughter of the late John Sidney Arledge and Minnie Wilson Arledge and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a store owner and operator for many years and made many friends over the years. She has many nieces and nephews and was always willing to help others. She loved to sing. She is survived by her sons, Richard Julian (Angie) Brown, Jr. of Lugoff, SC, Sidney Lee Roy (Lori) Brown of Bishopville, SC; daughter, Nancy Kaye (Preston) Brown of Bishopville, SC; Brothers, John (Janice) Arledge; sisters, Patsy (Buck) Watson, Sybol (Ronnie) Brown; grandchildren, Andrew P. Brown, William P. (Gretta) Brown, Jr., Kayla V. (Jason) Brown, Becky (Matt) Brown, Amber (Katie) Brown, Hailey Anderson, Taylor Anderson; great-grandson, William P. "Liam" Brown III, Brantley Joe Brown, Sadie Kayte Brown. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Willis Arledge, Joseph "Joe" Arledge, Charlie Arledge; sisters, Almenia Gainey, Alberta Porter, Elizabeth Smith, Frances Truesdale.
