Ms. Centry Ovaline McCutchen

It is with deep sorrow that the McCutchen family announces the death of their beloved sister, Ms. Centry Ovaline McCutchen, 68. Ms. McCutchen entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The Directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in The Chapel of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home, with The Rev. Ken Weldon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made in her honor to B.A.R.K. (Bishopville Animal Rescue Krew), 158 Johnson Pond Road, Bishopville, SC 29010. Ms. McCutchen was born on October 10, 1956, in North Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the daughter of Eugene Bradley "Brad" McCutchen III and the late Lella Ann Bridgers Rhem. Centry lived life on her own terms to say the least, as a unique and free spirit. She had a huge heart & a genuine, deep-rooted love for her family & friends. Her love for her family was only matched by her love of animals. A fierce advocate for animals, she rescued, loved & rehabilitated the most difficult cases, providing them a stable home, and showering them with love and devoted patience. Often, Centry was the one vets called for their lost cause animals. Her patience & love turned them from throwaways to cherished and beloved pets. It was both her gift and passion. Centry loved with her whole heart, and if you needed her, you needed to do no more than ask, and she was there to be by your side and help in any way she could. A loyal cheerleader for those in her circle, she relished celebrating the highs of those she loved & likewise mourned the lows. You always knew if she was in your corner, and if she was, she had your back one hundred percent. She is survived by her father, Eugene Bradley "Brad" McCutchen III of Bishopville, SC; brothers, Gene McCutchen of Leesville, SC, Lee Watson of Bishopville, SC; and sister, Dawn (Craig) Nesbit of Bishopville, SC; nieces and nephews, Honor (Justin) Wrenn, Kathryn (Lawson) Dunn, Mary Thomas McCutchen, Caleb (Ali) Watson, Becca Watson, Joshua Watson, Kayla (Justin) Lang-Spittler, Caroline McCutchen, Ansley Nesbit; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brayden Wrenn, T. K. Wrenn, and Lyla Dunn; paternal grandmother, Mary Ellen McCutchen. In addition to her mother, Lella, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Dolly McCutchen. She will be greatly missed and leave a void in the lives of those she loved and who loved her.
